GEORGE CHEAH AKA “BOSS” STARTED FRYING CHICKEN IN THE EARLY 1970’S IN LONDON, AFTER MEETING HIS WIFE, HE MOVED TO LUTON IN 1978 TO START A FAMILY AND KNOWING HE COULD DO IT BETTER HIMSELF, DECIDED TO INTRODUCE LUTON TO HIS OWN AMERICAN STYLE OF FRIED CHICKEN AND IN 1985 CHICKEN GEORGE WAS BORN!
Chicken George led the way in the fried chicken game locally but when George handed the business to his son Chris in 2015 the company began to be recognised nationally.
Chris Cheah is a highly skilled and trained chef who has worked in some of the UK’s best restaurants and alongside some of the top chefs in the industry. Chris has transferred those skills to the fried chicken game to continue his dad’s legacy.
During Chris’s first year Chicken George won the Best Takeaway in the South East of England at the Just Eat awards and this was followed by winning the Best Takeaway in Britain in 2016 beating over 35,000 other takeaways in the process!
In 2019 Chris teamed up with The Ribman of London to go on a journey that would see them win everything in the chicken wing game at Wing Fest (Europe’s biggest wing festival) and Wing Jam.
Chris along with his family and amazing staff are continuously striving to bring our customers, both old and new, the best chicken in the game.

Yes we are halal friendly. We use halal turkey bacon in our Mac & cheese and burgers, not pork.
The Bedford site does however sell pork ribs. Our pork is prepped offsite and cooked in a separate oven and stored separately. There is strictly no mixing of cooking & serving equipment.
Halal certificates from our suppliers can be supply on request.

You can only place an order in one of our restaurants. All our restaurants operate a takeaway service.
